Trip Summary
OK, here's the promised summary-
Total mileage-2838 Time to drive it-not really sure. I just know I had to be removed from the driver's seat with a crowbar. Worst stretch of Interstate: I-70 between St Louis and Kansas City. Worst stretch of pavement I've ever seen called an interstate. Hit one hole so hard it set off the alarm on my (trailered) car. Most Gruesome Roadkill: Hindquarters of a deer. No front end visible, but a really nasty blood smear. Roadkill I'd Most Hate to Have Hit: An elk, on I-80 in Utah between the Wyoming state line and I-84 Nastiest reststop: on I-84 in Idaho. It was the flies in the latrine that really got to me. Road I'd most rather have been driving the Audi, not towing it: (tie) I-40 between Asheville, NC and Knoxville, TN; I-84 through the Blue Ridge Mountains in Oregon First view of Washington state: Mt Adams spotted from vicinity milepost 189 on I-84 in Oregon Oddest dichotomy: billboards in Missouri. Profusion of billboards a)against abortion; and b) abvertising "adult superstores." Not sure if the tow are somehow related Only day it didn't rain: oddly enough, the day I drove through Washington and Oregon.
Blogging will still be intermittent until we get established back in Lacey. I am planning on going to the Puyallup gunshow on either the 13th or 14th of August.
