Confirming what we already knew 


The SF coroner's office has confirmed that the cop who fatally shot himself in the neck at a party was legally intoxicated.

Guns and booze do not mix well, kids. And guys, if you want to impress a girl using a gun, show her how you can put a whole mag in the 10 ring. Then teach her how to do it.

I'm home for the weekend. Where's a good place to get my ears lowered. Said ear lowering must include full shaved whitewalls.

As far as what I'm close to, I live on post, near the O-club.

Dislocation, Relocation 


OK, I'm no longer in the Great Wet North. The Mrs. is ensconced in our new house on post at Fort Bragg, and the kids will be inbound from my folks' place in Kalifornia over the weekend.

Me, I'm at Fort Belvior.

The move was a bit of a mess. The movers picked up our stuff two weeks ago Thursday. The driver said it would be in North Carolina on Wednesday or Thursday of the next week (last week). So the Mrs. and I drove hard across the country to get there ahead of the truck, getting to Ft Bragg on Tuesday, a day or two ahead of the truck's scheduled arrival.

But the truck did drop our stuff until yesterday. So the Mrs. is home, by herself, with a house full of boxes.

Luckily, Bragg and Belvior are close enough that I can drive home on some weekends.
