Things To Do In Dallas When You're Not Dead
It's not totally official - the leave form has been submitted, but not officially approved (when your supervisor outranks the CO, the CO is a rubber stamp) - but the Mrs and I should be in Dallas the end of next month. The occasion is the annual Mary Kay seminar/convention/shindig (the Mrs is an MK Independant Beauty Consultant), 23-26 July. We're actually not leaving until the 29th, getting in some away time without the kids while we're out.
So what is there to do in Dallas (especially in the vicinity of the Adam's Mark hotel)? Day and night. I'm still pondering the best method of getting my CCW there.

12 Years Ago Today
I, [Heartless Libertarian], having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of Second Lieutenant, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of The United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Here's to at least 12 more.
