Visiting the In-Laws

Army LSAT 


Which is Lightweight Small Arms Technology, not the Law School Aptitude Test.

Firearm Blog reports on the latest developments on the project, which looks to have a good bit of potential. I'm encouraged by the fact that it's not (that I've seen) being ballyhooed in any sort of media (and that the Counterstrike kiddies don't have boners for the thing yet.)

My big hope, though, is that, since they look to be going to a whole new kind of ammo (cased telescoping or caseless) that they use the opportunity to reconsider the 5.56mm projectile as well. (Hint: 6.5mm in the 120-130 grain range, please!)

Honey, I'm Home! 


Actually, I've been home for just over 2 weeks...done all the reintegration stuff, including another parachute jump, and I'm now on leave for the next month.

Got lots of stuff banging around in my head, including an entire, somewhat lengthy, blog post that got lost when my (old) laptop went Tango Uniform. I'll be taking it to a shop so I can hopefully recover the HD.

For now, I'll leave you with this quote, from the night I came home:
